Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Carpet Cleaning Lambeth in respect of our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner, and to preventing modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking in all forms.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth provides professional carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services. Although we operate within a relatively low-risk sector, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry and any geography. We therefore take active steps to identify, prevent and address risks in our own operations and in our supply chain.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation, including forced labour, child labour, debt bondage, servitude, or any abuse of power or vulnerability for personal or commercial gain.
This zero-tolerance stance is communicated to all employees, contractors and suppliers. Breaches of this policy are treated as serious misconduct and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Workforce and Employment Practices
We are committed to fair and lawful employment practices. All employees and workers engaged directly by Carpet Cleaning Lambeth are recruited in line with applicable employment and immigration laws. We verify the right to work, ensure that wages meet or exceed legal minimum standards, and promote safe and respectful working conditions.
Workers are free to leave their employment after giving appropriate notice, retain control of their personal documents, and are not required to pay recruitment fees. We do not use child labour, and we do not tolerate harassment, discrimination or abusive practices of any kind.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning products, equipment, maintenance, uniforms and other support services. We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold standards consistent with our own commitment to human rights and fair labour.
As part of our approach, we undertake proportionate due diligence on key suppliers, focusing on those whose activities, locations or sectors may present higher risk. This may include assessments of labour practices, confirmation of compliance with modern slavery legislation, and evaluation of health and safety conditions.
We reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, which may involve site visits, document reviews and interviews with management or workers where appropriate. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will seek corrective action within a reasonable timeframe. Persistent or serious non-compliance may result in the review, suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth encourages all employees, workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking or unethical labour practices. Concerns may relate to our own operations or those of our business partners.
Individuals may raise concerns directly with management or through our internal reporting procedures. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously, investigate them promptly and, where necessary, take appropriate remedial action. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, raises a concern or participates in an investigation.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness among relevant staff about the risks and indicators of modern slavery. This includes guidance on how to recognise warning signs, how to use reporting channels, and how to interact responsibly with workers in our own operations and in the supply chain.
Where appropriate, we will provide additional training for managers and those involved in procurement, supplier management and recruitment to strengthen our preventative measures.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery commitments rests with the management of Carpet Cleaning Lambeth. We monitor the effectiveness of our actions by reviewing any reported incidents, audit findings, supplier performance and feedback from workers and stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective and aligned with legal and best practice developments. As part of the annual review, we consider any changes in our operations, supply chains, risk profile and external expectations, and we update our processes and this statement where needed.
By maintaining rigorous standards, continuous monitoring and clear reporting channels, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth seeks to contribute to the elimination of modern slavery in all its forms and to promote dignity, fairness and respect throughout our business and supply chains.
