Terms And Conditions
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning Lambeth provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which form a contractual agreement between you and Carpet Cleaning Lambeth for the provision of services at the agreed address.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means the individual, company or other legal entity requesting or receiving services from Carpet Cleaning Lambeth.
Services means carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning and any other related cleaning services agreed between Carpet Cleaning Lambeth and the Customer.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
Technician means an employee, subcontractor or representative assigned by Carpet Cleaning Lambeth to perform the Services.
Agreement means the contract formed between Carpet Cleaning Lambeth and the Customer incorporating these Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of Services
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth provides professional carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning services within its designated service area, including Lambeth and surrounding districts. The specific Services to be performed will be confirmed at the time of booking and in any subsequent written or verbal confirmation.
All Services are provided on the basis of a reasonable endeavours obligation. While every care is taken to achieve the best possible result based on the condition, fibre type, age and previous treatment of the items being cleaned, no guarantee can be given that any particular stain, mark or odour will be removed, or that colour or texture will be fully restored.
The Customer acknowledges that certain stains, wear, discolouration and damage may be permanent, and that cleaning may not be able to rectify such issues. Any expectations or special requirements must be discussed with Carpet Cleaning Lambeth prior to commencement of the Services.
3. Booking Process
Bookings may be made by the Customer through Carpet Cleaning Lambeth's accepted booking channels. When making a booking, the Customer must provide accurate information regarding the Premises, access arrangements, parking, property type, number and size of rooms, type and condition of carpets and other items to be cleaned, and any known issues such as severe soiling, pet odours or damage.
The Agreement is formed when Carpet Cleaning Lambeth confirms acceptance of the booking. Confirmation may be given in writing or verbally, including by reference to an agreed appointment date, time window and estimated price.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth reserves the right to refuse a booking or to cancel a confirmed booking where the information provided by the Customer is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading, or where it is not reasonably practicable or safe to undertake the Services.
The Customer must ensure that a responsible adult is present at the Premises at the agreed appointment time, unless alternative access arrangements have been expressly agreed in advance.
4. Access and On-Site Requirements
The Customer must provide safe, reasonable and uninterrupted access to the Premises for the Technician, including suitable parking arrangements where required. Any parking charges, congestion charges or similar fees incurred in attending the Premises may be added to the Customer's bill if not previously included in the quoted price.
The Premises must have a reliable supply of electricity and, where required, water. The Customer must ensure that the areas to be cleaned are cleared of fragile items, small furniture and personal belongings prior to the Technician's arrival, unless otherwise agreed.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth reserves the right to decline or suspend the Services if the Technician considers that conditions at the Premises are unsafe, unsanitary, structurally unstable or otherwise unsuitable for the work to be carried out. In such a case, a call-out charge or partial fee may be payable to cover time and costs incurred.
5. Prices, Estimates and Quotations
Prices for Services may be provided as a fixed quotation or as an estimate based on the information supplied by the Customer. Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will use reasonable care to ensure that any price indication is accurate based on that information.
However, the final price may vary where the actual condition, size or layout of the Premises or items to be cleaned differs from that described at the time of booking, or where additional Services are requested on arrival. In such cases, the Technician will explain any adjustment to the price before proceeding.
All prices are stated in pounds sterling and, where applicable, will indicate whether value added tax is included or excluded. Promotional offers, discounts or vouchers are subject to availability and to any specific terms notified at the time of the offer. They cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion unless expressly stated.
6. Payments and Charges
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for the Services is due immediately upon completion of the work at the Premises. Carpet Cleaning Lambeth accepts common forms of payment as advised during the booking process. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that sufficient funds are available to make payment when due.
For certain bookings, including large commercial projects or high-value residential work, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth may require a deposit or advance payment. Any such requirement will be notified during the booking process. Deposits are generally non-refundable unless Carpet Cleaning Lambeth cancels the booking or agrees otherwise at its sole discretion.
Where payment is not made when due, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth reserves the right to charge reasonable administration costs and, where applicable, interest on overdue amounts in accordance with relevant legislation. The Customer is liable for all costs reasonably incurred in recovering unpaid sums, including debt collection and legal fees.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling
The Customer may cancel or reschedule an appointment by providing reasonable advance notice. Carpet Cleaning Lambeth requests a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations or changes to weekday bookings, and may require longer notice for weekend or peak-time bookings, as advised at the time of booking.
If the Customer cancels or reschedules with insufficient notice, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth may at its discretion charge a late cancellation fee or retain all or part of any deposit paid, in order to cover costs and lost work time.
If a Technician attends the Premises at the agreed time and is unable to gain access, or if the Customer is not present as agreed and no alternative access has been arranged, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a call-out or cancellation fee may be charged.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will use reasonable endeavours to attend the Premises at the agreed time. However, appointment times are approximate and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous jobs or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. Where a delay or need to reschedule arises, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will contact the Customer as soon as reasonably practicable to agree a new time.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time, including on arrival at the Premises, where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, where access is not possible, or where the Customer has breached these Terms and Conditions. In such cases, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the cancellation.
8. Customer Obligations
The Customer must:
Ensure that the information provided when booking is accurate and complete.
Provide safe access, parking and working conditions at the Premises.
Remove or secure fragile items, valuables and personal belongings from areas to be cleaned.
Inform the Technician of any known issues with carpets, flooring or furnishings, including previous cleaning treatments, colour-run risk, shrinkage risk, loose fittings, and any existing stains, damage or defects.
Keep children, pets and other occupants away from work areas and equipment during and immediately after the Services, especially while carpets and upholstery are still damp.
Follow any aftercare advice given by the Technician, including recommended drying times and precautions.
9. Stains, Wear and Colour Fastness
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will test fibres and cleaning products where appropriate, but cannot be held responsible for any adverse reaction where items are not colour-fast, have been previously treated with unsuitable products, have hidden damage or weakness, or are in a heavily worn or degraded state.
Pre-existing damage, wear, fading, sun damage, heavy soiling and long-standing stains may limit the results that can be achieved. No warranty or guarantee is offered that any specific stain or odour will be removed, or that complete uniformity of colour or texture will be achieved after cleaning.
The Customer accepts that some issues may only become apparent after cleaning, such as shading, pile distortion, seam weakness, or reappearance of stains due to wicking from the backing of the carpet. Carpet Cleaning Lambeth is not liable for such issues where they are due to the inherent condition or history of the item.
10. Liability and Insurance
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. The company maintains appropriate insurance cover for its activities, subject to the policy terms and exclusions.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which cannot legally be excluded.
Subject to the above, Carpet Cleaning Lambeth's total liability for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the total price paid or payable by the Customer for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or any loss arising from delays, rescheduling, or inability to attend the Premises due to circumstances beyond reasonable control.
The Customer must notify Carpet Cleaning Lambeth as soon as reasonably practicable of any complaint or alleged damage arising from the Services, and in any event within 48 hours of completion. The Customer must give Carpet Cleaning Lambeth a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the issue. Failure to do so may affect the ability to investigate and resolve the matter.
11. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will handle and dispose of any waste water, residues and related waste materials generated during the Services in a manner consistent with applicable environmental and waste regulations.
Where waste water is discharged at the Premises, this will normally be via appropriate drainage points such as sinks, toilets or external drains, subject to suitability and the Customer's consent. The Customer must inform the Technician of any restrictions, private treatment systems or known issues with drainage at the Premises.
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will not remove general household waste, hazardous materials, sharp objects or biological waste not directly associated with the Services. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that areas to be cleaned are free from such materials, and for arranging appropriate disposal in accordance with local regulations.
12. Health and Safety
The Technician will work in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements, including safe use of machinery and cleaning agents. The Customer must co-operate with any reasonable health and safety instructions given by the Technician, including temporary restrictions on access to work areas.
Certain cleaning products may carry warnings or require ventilation. The Customer must inform Carpet Cleaning Lambeth in advance of any allergies, sensitivities or special requirements relating to occupants of the Premises, including children, pets or vulnerable individuals.
13. Complaints Procedure
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth aims to provide a professional and reliable service. If the Customer has any concerns or is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should raise this with the Technician on site where possible, or contact Carpet Cleaning Lambeth promptly after the visit.
Complaints should be raised within 48 hours of completion of the Services so that any issues can be properly investigated. Carpet Cleaning Lambeth may request photographs or a follow-up visit in order to assess the matter and determine an appropriate response, which may include re-cleaning specific areas or, where justified, offering a partial refund or other remedy at its discretion.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth will collect and use personal information about the Customer, such as name, address, service details and payment information, only for the purposes of handling bookings, providing Services, processing payments, and managing customer relationships.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. It will not be sold to third parties. Information may be shared with subcontractors or service providers where necessary for the performance of the Services or administration of the business.
15. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Carpet Cleaning Lambeth may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that specific Agreement. Customers are encouraged to review the Terms and Conditions periodically.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services, including any question regarding their existence, validity or termination.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted, but such finding shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any booking confirmation or written variation agreed by Carpet Cleaning Lambeth, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the Services and supersede any prior representations, negotiations or understandings, whether written or oral.
No variation of these Terms and Conditions shall be effective unless it is expressly agreed by Carpet Cleaning Lambeth.
